Gods of Shemdelver

Titans of Shemdelver

Here are the major gods of Shemdelver. There will likely be minor ones to fill in the gaps, but this will do for now. Everything is fixed, and these are the only gods available in the campaign.

Oi

Alignment: True Neutral
Domains: Destruction (Catastrophe),  Earth (Radiation), Plant (Decay, Growth)
Favored Weapon:  Warhammer

Other Names: The Father, First Titan, Sleeping Titan, The Creator.

Description: Oi is known as the first god, who birthed Tiamat and Bahamut.  His followers are few and far between, often forming small cults, as he promotes no true purpose. It is said he will awake when the Realms are in total Choas, to reign in destruction, in order to have rebirth of the Realms. Often his followers wish to hasten this fate, or extend the time in which it may happen. Scholars of the religion often debate if he is Shemdelver himself, the Creator, or perhaps just the apathetic Gardner with a watchful eye.

Tiamat

Alignment: Chaotic Evil

Domains:  Evil (Daemon), Scalykind (Dragon), Chaos (Protean, Entropy, Revelry), Death (Murder)

Favored Weapon: Spear

Other Names: The Dark Serpent, Bringer of Darkness, Hades Gatekeeper.
Description: In the Godless Age, Tiamat slept, and only his mighty roar could open the gates of Hell to the material plane of Shemdelver. He is the twin brother of Bahamut, and son of Oi. Although mainly worshiped by Kobolds, he is often worshipped by those who wish to bring ultimate chaos and/or destruction to the Realms. He only wishes to cleanse the world of all children, and to meet those ends, he wishes utter chaos, and to take his father’s place as the Supreme God. Typically fallen Paladins tend to worship him, or those who wish harm to the material plane or others for shellfish gain.

 

Bahamut

Alignment: Lawful Good

Domains: Good (Archon, Redemption), Scalykind (Dragon), Law (Archon, Judgement, Loyalty), Protection

Favored Weapon: Spear

Other Names: The Golden Titan, Gatekeeper of the Heavens, The Savior.

Description: Much like his brother, Bahamut is the Gatekeeper of the Heavens, and opened the Gates to from Heaven to the material plane of Shemdelver, ending the Godless Age. He is apathetic towards his father, and wishes to promote Justice and Good through the lands. Although Kobolds often worship him, it is not unheard of for others to worship him, due to his cause. A many Paladins can be found worshipping at his temples, as well as Dragoons.

 

Nyx

Alignment: Neutral Evil
Domains:  Darkness (Moon, Night), Void, Madness (Nightmare)

Favored Weapon: Starknife

Other Names: Mother of the Night, Queen of the Damned, The Dreamer.

Description: Daughter of Deimos and Rhea: She has been blessed with the beauty and charm of Rhea, yet the spirit of her father. She is often worshipped by werewolfs, vampires, and other such creatures of the night. Those who seek comfort in the darkness or shadows also worship her. She considers them all her children.

 

Prometheus

Alignment: Lawful Neutral

Domains: Fire (Smoke, Arson), Artifice (Construct), Knowledge (Memory, Thought).

Favored Weapon: Blunderbuss

Other Names: The Artificer, Philosopher King, Bringer of Fire & Truth.

Description: While Tiamat and Bahamut seeks to bring a specific moral and idea state to Shemdelver, Prometheus wishes to enlighten the realms of Shemdelver. He believes knowledge is the ultimate power, and thus credited to aiding in the arts of Philosophy and Technology. His worshippers often seek knowledge, and truth. His followers are often those who are scientist, philosophers. Goblins and Clockworks often build great churches in his honor, as the domains he rules are often in line with who they are or their passions.

 

Rhea

Alignment: Chaotic Good

Domains:  Trickery (Deception), Charm (Love, Lust), Liberation (Freedom, Revolution), Luck (Imagination)

Favored Weapon: Scimitar

Other Names: Goddess of Love, Maiden of Freedom, Lady Luck.

Description: The third offspring of Oi, Rhea is known as the Goddess of Drink, Love, Freedom, and Luck. Her beauty surpasses all, as well as her charm and wit. She is often worshipped by Bards, thieves, and those who wish to promote freedom. Her outlook is very hedonistic, despite her overwhelming good hearted nature.

 

Airmid

Alignment: Neutral Good

Domains: Healing (Restoration), Magic (Arcane, Divine), Rune (Wards).

Favored Weapon: Staff

Other Names: Divine Archmage, Father of Magic, Reader of Runes.

Description: Airmond is the protector of all that is magic: Divine or Arcane, as well as the caregiver of the sick. Mages often worship him, along with Clerics or Paladins that wish to help those plagued with disease.  He is often worshipped by the elves, as creatures of magic (descendent of the fey), and the kobolds pay homage to him due to his associating with the arcane. He considers all magical beast his children: fey, dire, and magical. He is the ruler of the Heavens. Often in direct conflict with Deimos.

 

Tyr

Alignment: Chaotic Neutral

Domains: War (Blood, Tactics), Strength (Ferocity, Resolve), Destruction (Rage)

Favored Weapon: Greatsword

Other Names: Berserker, Titan of War, Bringer of Destruction

Description: Often worshipped by soldiers in the midst of battle, or those who seek revenge. Tyr is the Titan of war, and destruction. He often encourages the use of brute strength to bring upon the two towards Shemdelver. He takes any who wishes to fight bravely and bring destruction to their enemies under his fold. Often Barbarians, Fighters, and Inquisitors worship him.

 

 

 

Deimos

Alignment: Lawful Evil

Domains: Death (Undead), Evil (Devil, Fear), Fire (Ash, Smoke), Earth (Caves)

Favored Weapon: Scythe

Other Names: Prince of Hades, Devil King, Ruler of the Dead.
Description: Fourth offspring of Oi, Deimos is the creator of the Hells, and rules it with an iron fist. He is know as the God of the Underworld, the Undead, and Fate. All must past his judgment after death to either be brought to his realm or under Airmonds protection. Demons and Devils alike worship him, along with those who wish to strike fear in their enemies hearts. Necrovants will pay him homage, as they recognize his relationship with them, although it is mostly done out of respect, as the same with Asuras.
