Goblins

Summary:

Goblins hail from the swamplands surrounded by the Jagged Reach Mountains, the place is called Abbaklernic. Goblins were originally on the side of the Old Balor Empire, but quickly were traded and enslaved by the demonic forces. They played a crucial part in the overthrow of the Old Balor Empire, and their alliance with the other humanoids have drastically changed, as goblins are typically either chaotic or neutral, but as evil as any human, and have relations with the other races just the same.  Goblins are known for being very outspoken, loud, and rude. Their jokes are often misunderstood by other people of Shemdelver as racist, and find their opinions closed minded and absurd. They are very small, ranging from 2.5-3.5 feet, and have black beady eyes and dark hairless reddish skin. They have shown a knack for steam technology, and often find themselves as the sole reverse engineers of steamcraft technology.

Racial Traits:

  • -2 Strength, +4 Dexterity, +1 Wisdom,  +1 Intelligence, -2 Charisma. Goblins are extremely dexterous, and fairly wise and intelligent beings. Their obsessions and misunderstood demeanor usually turns off other races, and their small size does little for their strength.
  •  Small Size
  • Base land speed is 30, being fairly fast especially for their size.
  • + 1 Dodge Bonus to AC.
  • Darkvision out to 60 feet.
  • +4 Racial bonus on Stealth checks, +2 bonus on Craft (Alchemy, Trapmaking, or Steamcraft). The goblin may choose one of the last three as always being a class skill, and one of the first as a class skill. These two skills will always be a class skill regardless of current class.
  • Goblins are automatically proficient with the Curved Blade. Also gains the Gunsmithing feat for free (post Godless Era), or treat one gun type as a martial weapon (Goddless Era/ Time of the Spellweave/ Era of Mages)
  • Slight Build: The physical stature of goblins lets them function in many ways as if they were one size category smaller. Whenever a goblin is subject to a size modifier or special size modifier for an opposed check (such as Hide), the goblin is treated as one size smaller if doing so is advantageous to the character. A goblin is also considered to be one size smaller when “squeezing” through a restrictive space. A goblin can use weapons designed for a creature one size smaller without penalty. However, the space and reach of a goblin remain those of a creature of their actual size.
